“The facilitator’s role is to initiate the learning process and then get out of the way.” - John Warren Fundamentals of Accelerated Learning Certificate Program Your Gateway to Engage and Motivate Learners The certificate program is facilitated by two of this region’s premier Accelerated Learning experts: Susan Aldrich and Sarah Spengler. 1. Are you ready to take the next step in building your training skills? 2. Do you want ideas on how to transform dry content into exciting activities? 3. Are you interested in a new approach to training design that is grounded in neuroscience and creates the optimal learning environment? This fun and fast-paced program will show you how to create training that is highly interactive and engaging... Guaranteed! The series will introduce you to “Accelerated Learning,” a research-based approach that supports the learning process with a wide range of methods and design tools. In this program you will learn how to design and deliver engaging, successful learning experiences using Accelerated Learning (AL) techniques. AL is a robust design and learning delivery process involving a 5-part design cycle that is based on over 30 years of experience and research. AL goes well beyond traditional adult learning principles. As a participant, you’ll experience AL yourself in the learning space, the activities and practice. Each participant will design and present a short content segment during the course, and prepare a portfolio of supporting materials to demonstrate mastery of key concepts. 1-Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this four-session certificate program, you’ll be able to: 4. Describe the Accelerated Learning Cycle of Design and Delivery 5. Create a work-related training segment demonstrating the full use of the AL Cycle and some of AL’s key principles 6. Discuss the effective use of music to support learning 7. Apply AL principles to e-learning 8. Create an effective learning environment, including all six room surfaces and the seating arrangements; 9. Create learning materials that engage the learner such as: cheat sheets, booklets, placemat worksheets and small takeaways. 2-Course Schedule 1. Four full-day sessions, each a week apart. This schedule allows learners to dive deep into the content and have time to create their own real-world materials. 2. Each participant will design and present a final work product segment to demonstrate competency. 3. The four-week program also includes an hour of individual coaching to assist participants in their design projects. 3-Program Details Dates/Times: Location: Cost: Fridays, April 8, 15, 22 & 29, 2016; 8:30 am – 4:30 pm CSU West Center, 26202 Detroit Road, Westlake, OH 44145 $1499 (10% discount to CSU alumni and ATD members) 4-To Register Visit-Fundaments of Accelerated Learning (link) or go to: http://www.campusce.net/csucasal/category/category.aspx?S=17 (and select Fundamentals of Accelerated Learning) Questions?
