At Nat’l Western Stock Show, Tech continues winning ways
Riding a 56-point margin of victory, Texas Tech University’s nationally-recognized meat
judging team took first place Jan. 18 at Denver’s National Western Stock Show. The team
placed first in beef judging, lamb judging, specifications and reasons, running up a total

New agreement promotes graduate exchange with China
Texas Tech University has signed two new partnership agreements with China’s Lanzhou
University that promote academic trade and open the doors for Chinese students to
study in the United States. The signing comes at the end of a three-day visit in December
by a seven member Chinese delegation composed of Lanzhou University deans and

Governor appoints Brashears to Brazos River Authority Board
A Texas Tech University associate professor has been appointed to the Brazos River
Authority Board of Directors, according to an announcement from Gov. Rick Perry’s
office. The authority is responsible for developing and conserving the surface water
resources of the Brazos River Basin. more »
