Brief roadmap of my PhD- thesis research activity
My thesis activity has consisted of both theoretical and experimental research approach and three
principal activities have been developed:
i) optimization of deposition and doping conditions of thin films applied to the realization
of Cr-doped ITO films grown by Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD);
ii) development ex-novo of a theoretical algorithm and experimental procedure for
computing realistically the absorption coefficient of ultrathin films;
iii) ab-initio simulations (based on the GGA and hybrid HSE functionals as implemented in
the VASP ab-initio simulation package) and discussion of the ground state and magnetic
properties of Cr and Sn co- doped In2O3
COMPUTATIONAL
TRAINING
During my PhD course I have approached to perform DFT simulations by a theoretical and
computational training period at the Istituto CNR-ISM in Pianabella di Montelibretti (ROMA).
