Course Description: Introduction to analysis of variance, regression analysis, correlation analysis, and nonparametric techniques. Continued use of SAS programming language. There are two lectures and one lab per week. Course Work and Grading: Grades will be based on weekly homework assignments, 2 midterms, and a final exam as follows: SAS Lab: 15% Homework: 15% 2 midterms: 40% (20% each) Final exam: 30% Make-ups: Students will not be allowed to reschedule or make-up exams. Students should make semester plans in advance - this is non-negotiable! If you cannot make it to the midterms or final, then you should not sign up for this course. Homework: Homework will be assigned and collected weekly. On some assignments, your grade may be based on completeness. I will pass out solutions to the homework problems, and it is your responsibility to check your own answers. Late homework will not be accepted! Some Important Dates: January 19th: Martin Luther King Day, No Class! February 16th: Presidents’ Day, No Class! February 18th: Midterm 1 March16th-21st: Spring Break, No Class! March 30th: Midterm 2 May 6th: Final Exam in our regular classroom from 8:00-10:00am Tutoring Center: The Mathematics Tutoring Center offers free, drop-in tutoring to all students enrolled in this class. The Tutoring Center is located in the T. Benny Rushing Mathematics Center. The hours for spring semester are: 8:00am- 8:00 pm Monday- Thursday and 8:00 am 6:00 pm on Friday, closed on weekends and University holidays. For students who need more attention than the tutoring center can offer, University Tutoring Services, 330 SSB, offers inexpensive private tutoring. A list of private tutors is also available from the math department office (in JWB). Group tutoring sessions, for 5 or more students, can be arranged through the Tutoring Center. There is also a drop-in computer lab for all students enrolled in a math class, and group study rooms, both of which are adjacent to the Tutoring Center.
