"Hidden Order, Metamagnetism and Quantum Critical End Points in Heavy Fermion URu2Si2" Tuesday September 9, 2003 3:00pm in 301B Spedding Hall Abstract: I shall review the tiny moment magnetism and the basic hidden order properties of this superconducting heavy fermion material and then consider the pressure dependences of the tiny moments via neutron scattering and NMR. Large magnetic fields can destroy the hidden order and lead to itinerant electron metamagnetism and the possibility of a quantum critical end point at 38 T.
