Obtain exposures at 9 locations within the FOV of PN HB12. • 4 visits, 4 orbits. • Results: – Compared to predicted values from ground tests – throughput is ~10% higher – wavelength solution is good, ~ 1% 03 September 2009 5 11549: UVIS and IR Pointing • Objective: Measure the pointing stability of the WFC3 UVIS and IR channels with a series of short observations of a globular cluster. • Activity: 36 orbits – Observations are taken: • 1) constant thermal attitude for 10 orbits then 2 orbits • 2) hot thermal attitude for 10 orbits then 2 orbits in cold attitude. • 3) cold thermal attitude for 10 orbits, then 2 orbits in hot attitude • Results: – Match predicted values based on ground tests • measured positions are stable to +/- 0.1 pixels in x and y • average offset is below 0.2 pixels • maximum offset is 0.25 pixels 03 September 2009 6 Other Updates Ongoing investigations: • “Blobs” observed in external images– ‘stuff’ on the CSM, confirmed through shift in CSM position, blobs moved with change CSM position – telemetric study of position shift ongoing • Light Leaks – cross contamination program • The effect formerly known as IR QEH (TEFKAQ) – DCL at GSFC are performing tests on similar IR detectors, can reproduce the effect 03 September 2009 7
