D2 calibration lamp test
•
Activity – Internal flatfields in major UV filters; Baggett
•
Objectives – verify health and performance of D2 lamp, assess status of
major UV filters, establish baseline of internal D2 flats
•
Status – each flatfield compared to similar ground flat.
•
Results
» Overall lamp output on-orbit is 1-6% higher than in TV3.
» Out of 2 of 11 lamp turn-ons had delayed firings of a few sec
(Richardson & Swain).
» Low-frequency structures are evident in the same locations and to
the same level (up to 2-3% peak to peak) as in TV3.

Due to droplet cores saturating, on-orbit program acquires three nominal exposure time D2 flats in each UV filter and one short exposure time.
