SOCIAL WORKER II – ADULT SERVICES

DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The primary purpose of this position is to provide At-Risk
and Payee case management services to the elderly and/or disabled adults and to
provide adult day care monitoring and adult care home case management services.
This position also serves as backup for the adult protective services social worker.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of social work
principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework, group
work, or community problems. Knowledge of the psychosocial, socioeconomic and
behavioral problems and their treatment. General knowledge of medical terminology,
disease processes and their treatment. Knowledge of governmental and private
organizations and community resources. Knowledge of laws, regulations and
policies which govern the program. Skill in establishing rapport with a client and
applying techniques of assessing psychosocial. behavioral, and psychological
aspects of client's problem. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely and to plan
and execute work.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in
social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in a human
services field from an accredited college or university and one year directly related
experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two
years directly related experience. (IF UNABLE TO FILL AT FULL CLASS, TRAINEES
