Dear Minister,
This letter accompanies a short APPSI paper proposing principles which should apply to
Government’s Public Sector Information Holders, particularly if there is any change to the
status of such bodies (e.g. through privatisation or conversion into Public Corporations).
APPSI members believe that having such a set of principles enshrined in practice will be
very much in the public interest.
The paper is sent to you in accordance with our remit to provide advice.
As always, I stand ready to meet with you to explain how this came about and why it is
significant.
Given their interest in such matters I am copying this to Mr Maude, Minister for the Cabinet
Office, and to Mr Hancock, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise.
