APPSI meeting on 28 January 2014 This meeting will be held at McKinsey’s headquarters at 1 Jermyn Street, London SW1Y 4UH (map). For security reasons all attendees should check in at the McKinsey reception desk. The meeting (agenda below) will start at 11:00 (10:45 for coffee) with normal items of business for APPSI members only. From lunchtime (12:30) on we will be joined by speakers and invited guests. From 13:00 onwards the meeting will become a seminar focused on the issue of how we assess the benefits of Open Data (OD). Solid evidence on the impact of OD is difficult to gather but is important if resources are to be committed to its expansion and to gain producer acceptance. We aim to cover: Appropriate metrics and methods for measurement of success (or otherwise) of Open Data Examples of projects or programmes based upon Open Data which have been shown through sound metrics to have been successful (or not). Ways of enhancing the value of OD by tackling road blocks to success in any part of the innovation process. To stimulate discussion a ‘thought piece’ paper is attached.
