AGRICULTURAL COMMODITY SALES imi&. OREGON, 1987p • Prepared by Stanley D. Miles Extension Economist, Oregon State University The following pages contain estimates of agricultural production and value of farm and ranch sales for 1987. These are preliminary or first estimates and will be revised and updated as additional information is received. The estimates are made by Oregon State University Extension Service personnel. County Extension agents develop estimates of acreages, yields, prices, number of cattle, sheep, hogs, and poultry. After all the county reports are completed, state totals are tabulated by Oregon State University Extension economists. • This summary report provides a quick overview of Oregon agriculture for this past year. Oregon agricultural production information is requested by individuals, state and federal agencies, fertilizer and chemical companies, machinery companies, university specialists and administrators, students, consulting companies, news media, and other agribusiness firms. The Extension Service maintains detailed information on Oregon and United States agriculture and publishes other reports. Each year we publish more than 40 Commodity Data Sheets on the major agricultural commodities produced in Oregon. These contain a county breakdown of production, data on other northwest states or states that are important to the particular commodity and total figures for the United States. These sheets contain data for the last 3 to 5 years. Commodity data sheets are published in the following groupings: grains, hay, forage, field crops, tree fruits and nuts, small fruits and berries, vegetables and truck crops, specialty products, and livestock and poultry. If you want to subscribe to these reports please write to 219 Extension Hall, Oregon State University, Corvallis, Oregon 97331. e 1 Gross Farm & Ranch Sales by County & District 1987p District & County All animal products Total sales 43,597 112,248 52,840 85,906 188,657 40,020 46,329 97,060 60,734 727,391 $000$ 7,474 39,934 22,578 30,718 52,488 1,915 15,108 19,614 35,320 225,149 51,071 152,182 75,418 116,624 241,145 41,935 61,437 116,674 96,054 952,540 Clatsop Columbia Coos Curry Lincoln Tillamook District 2 2,631 11,581 17,018 6,181 4,532 3,577 45,520 6,809 6,192 16,160 4,677 1,884 57,390 93,112 9,440 17,773 33,178 10,858 6,416 60,967 138,632 Douglas Jackson Josephine District 3 20,440 22,179 4,383 47,002 19,977 16,901 10,710 47,588 40,417 39,080 15,093 94,590 Gilliam Hood River Morrow Sherman Umatilla Wasco Wheeler District 4 12,631 34,400 62,883 11,360 114,606 33,632 1,593 271,105 4,321 1,554 33,309 2,040 36,005 5,819 3,892 86,940 16,952 35,954 96,192 13,400 150,611 39,451 5,485 358,045 Baker Malheur Union Wallowa District 5 4,486 79,376 21,658 8,014 113,534 30,743 49,828 7,575 11,008 99,154 35,229 129,204 29,233 19,022 212,688 Crook Deschutes Grant Harney Jefferson Klamath Lake District 6 9,798 5,364 3,864 5,592 37,681 33,712 8,990 105,001 16,135 21,732 13,257 26,486 6,346 45,211 23,104 152,271 25,933 27,096 17,121 32,078 44,027 78,923 32,094 257,272 704,214 2,013,767 Benton Clackamas Lane Linn Marion Multnomah Polk Washington Yamhill District 1 State total All crops 1,309,553 Extension Economic Information Office, Oregon State University 2 • Gross Farm & Ranch Sales by Commodity Group 1986r-1987p Commodity Group Percent change 1987p -
