Field/Clinical/Internship Practice Requirements For AgEd 331 I. Catalog Description: Program organization and development of learning activities in agriculture education including program planning, supervised agriculture experiences, FFA, federal, state and local program structure. II. Population Served: Undergraduates that have sophomore or junior status. III. Number of Hours Required Field/Internship: 12 hours IV. Required Activities: There is a required field experience that completed in the AgEd 331 course. The students are required to complete 12 instructional and/or observation hours in a primary grade classroom set up by the instructor. In the past, we have used St. Paul, West Prairie, or Bushnell-­‐ PC elementary schools for the field experience. The students are required to present instruction on two or three lessons, depending on the size of the class. After the experience is completed, they are required to write a reflection paper on each lesson taught. V. How Activities Are Assessed: The students are assessed on their lesson plan structure and their completed reflection papers. The lesson plans (50 pts) are evaluated on a structured rubric and the reflection papers (50 pts) are evaluated on the 13 principles of teaching and learning (Newcomb, McCracken, Warmbrod-­‐1993) utilized by the instructor.
