GUIDELINES FOR RECOGNITION OF AWARDS ZETA GAMMA CHAPTER MAY CEREMONY NURSING EDUCATION AWARD Awards for excellence in nursing education are based on the following criteria: Demonstrates excellence in teaching. Advances the science of nursing through clarifying, refining, and/or expanding the knowledge base for nursing. Promotes a theory base for nursing curricular and nursing practice. Influences scholarly development in nursing education, practice, and/or research through teaching. Influences the professional practice of nursing and the public’s image of nursing through excellence in teaching. NURSING LEADERSHIP AWARD Awards for excellence in nursing leadership are based on the following criteria: Receives local, national, and/or international recognition as a nursing leader in education, practice, research, and/or administration. Influences leadership in nursing through visionary and innovative approaches to leadership. Creates an environment that enhances the image of nursing/nurses. Participates in the development of nursing leaders and leadership. OUTSTANDING STUDENT PERFORMANCE AWARD Awards for outstanding student performance are based on the following criteria: Achievement in clinical, academic, research, leadership, and other creative activities.
