Policy Title
Internal Course Transfer Policy
Purpose
To outline the requirements for Monash University students applying for an internal course transfer
into Faculty of Education coursework programs
Supporting Research and Analysis
Analysis of other Monash University Faculty requirements
Feedback from Marketing and Communications
Feedback from Admissions & Student Services Staff
Scope
This policy applies to:
• all Faculty of Education coursework courses at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate
level;
• all currently enrolled Monash University coursework students.
This policy does not apply to students wanting to change their fee status or those seeking to
transfer to Monash from other institutions.
This policy should be read in conjunction with the University Admissions to Coursework Courses
and Units of Study Policy and Procedures.
Policy Statement
The Faculty will determine whether places are available for internal course transfers. A student
who wishes to apply for an internal course transfer into a Faculty coursework course must meet the
admission requirements for that course (e.g. Mathematics/English/other).
The Faculty will assess internal course transfers based on the minimum selection criteria:

42 credit points in the
current year of study.
Inter
Students must have
passed a minimum of
42 credit points with a
50% average in the
current year of study.

Where the course transfer is to a double degree with Education, the minimum requirements of the
other Faculty will also be observed.
Admission to a course on the basis of internal course transfer is subject to a competitive process,
the actual requirement for admission may be higher than stated above. Where the minimum
selection criteria are not met additional documentary evidence may be submitted with the internal
course transfer application. In exceptional circumstances, this evidence may be considered by the
Faculty Manager and Manager, Admissions and Student Services during the selection process.
Definitions
Internal Course Transfer: a transfer by a person currently enrolled in a Monash award course into
another Monash award course
Intra Course Transfer: a transfer by a person currently enrolled in a Faculty of Education award
course into another Faculty of Education award course.

Inter Course Transfer: a transfer by a person currently enrolled in a non-Faculty of Education
award course into another Faculty of Education award course.
