1) To be eligible to graduate from the course students must have completed a minimum of 80 days of satisfactory teaching practice.
2) To receive the awards of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education, a student must successfully complete units totalling 204 points,
consisting of:
(a) Studies in Education (108 points) including a series of units relating to the theory and practice of education, teaching and curriculum.
Please refer to the list of Teaching Specialisms and their minimum academic requirements at
http://www.education.monash.edu.au/students/current/timetables/teachingmethodprereq.html to ensure that students will be academically qualified
for at least two teaching specialisms.
(b) Studies in Arts (96 points) including:
An Arts Major sequence (48pts) — Any one of: Ancient History, Anthropology, Behavioural Studies, English, Geography, History, Jewish Civilisation,
LOTE**, Music, Politics, Psychology, Sociology or Theatre.
An Arts Minor sequence (24pts) — Any one of: Anthropology, Behavioural Studies, English, Geography, History, Jewish Civilisation, Linguistics,
Politics, Psychology, Sociology or Theatre.
An Arts 1st yr sequence (12pts) — Selection of another teaching area is recommended
A Further 12 points of Arts Elective units
3) Please consult Course Advisor or Course Administrator to ensure you have correct prerequisites to continue in a LOTE sequence.
