Online RN-BSN/MSN Pathway
For Admission to Phase One, for the Undergraduate Professional Component of the RN-BSN/MSN Pathway.
Students must first apply for Undergraduate Admission to the University of South Alabama. You should then submit the required Nursing
Application for the RN-BSN/MSN Pathway. Prerequisite courses must be completed at an accredited institution prior to beginning the
Professional Component at USA. The BSN may be completed in three semesters, however students may progress through Phase One at their
desired pace. The Professional Component MUST be completed in FIVE years. Admission criteria and application deadlines are below.
Page two provides sample schedules for students beginning the Professional Component for the BSN in both the Fall and the Spring Semesters.

Submission of completed Nursing Application Packet, by the posted deadline
You MUST be Admitted to USA as an Undergraduate Pre-Nursing Student
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on ALL academic coursework ever attempted
Minimum University GPA of 3.00
Minimum of “C” in all nineteen pre-requisite courses listed below
Submission of all health data information and evidence of health insurance
Evidence of CPR certification
Completion of an accredited diploma or associate degree in nursing and a current
registered nurse licensure with no restriction.
Drug test and background check are required. Admission will be contingent on a
negative drug screen and acceptable background check.

*Practice Integrated Experiences: Learning activities incorporated within four nursing courses as
practice based assignments. Activities are directly linked to the particular course objectives. Course
Instructors will provide specific directives to the students regarding all practice integrated experiences.
