Parish Mission Statement
As a Jesuit Parish Community, animated by the spirit of St. Ignatius,
we welcome all to share in the joy of the Gospel
and to come to know, love and serve God and one another.
ONE BOOK, ONE PARISH
Many of us in the parish were so moved by Pope Francis' Joy of the Gospel that the Pastoral
Council decided it would like to invite the whole parish to read it together over the next five
months. The second Sunday of each month will be Joy of the Gospel Sunday and we will be
facilitating conversations among parishioners about the different sections of the document. We
expect that they will take place following the liturgies.
On Sunday November 23 at 2:00 pm we will have an inaugural event of music, dance, and
reflections from Staff and parishioners. We will be featuring parish musicians, Paul Melley,
Tmothy Zimmermann, Michelle Abadia, Luis Garmarra and others who fill us with JOY
through their gifts. We are especially blessed to have Owen Young, cellist with the BSO and
one of our parishioners, as a special guest performer. The event will be followed by a wine and
cheese reception. We invite you to join other parishioners on November 23 to celebrate the
feast of Christ the King of the Universe and The Joy of the Gospel.

You can purchase copies of The Joy of the Gospel from the USSCB website or from Amazon.
You can also download a free copy from the Vatican website. We also have created a page on
Facebook where you can add comments about the document as we read it together. Here is the

OUTREACH MINISTRIES
Shattuck Holiday Meal: Sign-ups for the December 6th Meal begin this weekend!
Materials can be found on the Outreach table.
Christmas Gift Drive: The Gift Drive kicks off this weekend. In addition to the Gift
Drive tree gifts, we’re providing the opportunity to gift families from St. Patrick’s Parish
in Lawrence and families from the Lynn Collaborative of St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart.
The family profiles have arrived; if your family might like to “adopt” one of the
families, please contact Sr. Diane for family information, vallerio@bc.edu.
Shattuck Fourth Tuesday: We will be serving dinner to the Shattuck Shelter
Guests on Tuesday, November 25th. Perhaps you could bake a bit extra when
you’re doing your Thanksgiving baking and donate it for the November 25th dinner?
Desserts need to be at the Parish Office by 4PM on the 25th, but you may bring your
donation earlier and can leave it inside the front door of the Parish Office building.
Thank you to the bakers and servers that have enabled us to continue our long-running ministry
to the Shelter Guests.
A big thank you to members of our faith community who worked
at a Roslindale Habitat work site last weekend. Their work and your
generosity have helped a family move closer to its goal of home
ownership.
THANKSGIVING DAY COLLECTION: Our Thanksgiving Day collection will be
forwarded to St. Anne’s Parish in Kingston, Jamaica, to be used for the needs
of the parish.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

Me alegra
Padre Bob
