Completing Entrance Counseling Step 1: Go to www.bc.edu/dl and click on www.StudentLoans.gov Step 2: Sign in to the website using the following information: •Social Security Number •The first two letters of last name •Date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy) •FAFSA Pin Number Step 3: You will be asked to verify your personal information. Enter an updated e-mail address, choose whether or not you would like to receive notifications via e-mail, and click Update. It should now say “E-Corr Option Updated Successfully” above the Update button. Step 4: Click on: Complete Entrance Counseling Step 5: Then click on Complete Entrance Counseling Step 6: Choose your counseling type: Undergraduate or Graduate Then click Continue Step 7: Read the directions and information about the counseling and quiz. The entrance counseling will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. Then click Continue Step 8: From the drop down bar, choose the state where you attend school followed by the name of the university that you attend. Then click Continue Step 9: The entrance counseling begins with an overview of the different types of Direct Loans followed by small informational sections regarding repaying loans, loan fees, guidelines about changes to personal information, consolidation, and more. At the end of each section is a small quiz based on the material just covered. When you click on an answer, a box containing the correct answer will appear. Read through the answer if you were incorrect. After answering the questions, click Continue. There are 16 sections which must be read, each followed by questions. Step 10: The last section contains a link to the Borrower’s Rights and Responsibilities. Read these and then click Submit. Upon clicking Submit, you will be notified of your completion of entrance counseling. You may: •Submit a Master Promissory Note •View and download your completed counseling verification page
