construction for this new $17.1 million state-of-the-art, LEED Gold Certified building to open in
spring 2014. As executive director my role was to direct the operations, facilitate program
design process, work closely with fund development team, and provide overall management of
this unique laboratory school. The Learning Lab is Nurtury’s innovation hub, with programming
that will impact children and families through family engagement, community development
initiatives, and collaboration of partners in the delivery of leading edge services.

The Community Foundation primarily provided grants to organizations serving Hampden,
Hampshire and Franklin County. As the leader, my responsibilities include overall management,
development and donor services, and strategic thinking. The Community Foundation managed
over 500 funds, distributes nearly $8 million a year to nonprofits in areas of education, human
services, health, environment and the arts. We convened forums for donors, funders and
community experts on vital topics affecting the region, and coordinated a group of civic leaders,
called Greater Springfield City to City to visit resurgent cities to stimulate and inspire new
ideas for urban revitalization and to strengthen cross sector relationships.

and marketing plans. Under my leadership, AGM improved its reputation as an effective and
