to our Listening Beyond the Accent Lecture Series
Phi Sigma Iota’s Listening Beyond the
Accent lecture series seeks to expose our
South Alabama community to interesting
discussions led by active international
members of our community.
Two immigrants to the U.S., Dr. Matilde
Tellaetxe, a glass artist from Spain with a
degree in Medicine, and Dr. Jasmin Arakawa,
a pianist from Japan and a faculty member in
the Department of Music at USA, will talk
about their experiences as immigrants and
their experience with the arts.
