Chair, Prof. Elizabeth Di Giorgio, called the meeting to order at approximately 10:00 a.m. in a Conference
Room at the Student Union.
In attendance: Dr. Chong Jue, Ms. Gisela Rivera, Mr. Simon Lulubabov, Prof. Barbara Lynch and Prof.
Elizabeth Di Giorgio.
I. Approval of the Agenda for December 15, 2010
The agenda was approved by voice vote.
II. Approval of the Minutes of November 13, 2010
The minutes were approved as distributed by voice vote.
III. Reports
A. Ms.
Gisela Rivera’s Report
1. The Office of Student Activities is beginning work on the student government elections, which will take place in March. They have confirmed arrangements with a company to hold an online election. Gisela is working with the Marketing Department and Bruce Naples to make voting as easy as possible. There will be a voting link on the website.
2. Major projects coming up include Earth Day and Asian Heritage Month.
3. The Office of Student Affairs has found that events held on Tuesdays and
Thursdays were more successful than events held on other days. The visit by psychic
Robert Channing and a ghost hunter were well attended.
4. Welcome packets for the spring semester are being assembled. They will include an order card for financial aid, and information on counseling, the Freshman
Academies, club fair, student government, and career services, as well as other information.
5. Starting this spring in order for a group to get full credit for an event it must be attended by at least 10 people.
B. Committee reports on charges:
1. Mr. Ulubabov reports that he has completed his charges.
2. Ms. Rivera discussed progress made related to the charge to coordinate student involvement in governance.
