Queens Borough Community College The city university of New York Constitution Article I. The Foreign Language Society Article II. To enrich the QCC student body by exposing them to the cultures and traditions of foreign languages taught at the college. To promote an appreciation of cultural diversity through films, music, food, and group discussions. Article III. All students presently enrolled at QCC are qualified to be a member of the club. No person shall be denied membership or office in this organization because of race, color, religious beliefs or non beliefs, national origin, sex, political beliefs, veteran, handicapped status, or sexual orientation. Article IV. Section 1: President: Bei Bei Ye Vice President: Iftiquar Rahman Senator: Rameeza Madhoo Section 2: A) Elections will be held at the last meeting of each semester. B) Voting will be done in a secret balloting. C) Candidates are elected by receiving a simple majority vote of those present at the meeting. D) Elected officers will take office immediately upon election. Article V. Section 1: society will meet at least twice a month. Section 2: A quorum consisting of one officer and five members is necessary for any business transaction. Article VI. The majority (about 50%) should be in attendance. Most meetings are conducted according to Robert's Rules of Order, although moderate rather then strict parliamentary procedures are normally followed.
