Inaworldthatisconstantlychanging,theChurchiscalledtoarenewedpracticeofaggiornamento,
aspiritofchangeandacommitmenttotheologicalengagementamidvariedcontemporary
contexts.Thispracticeofrejuvenationaskstheologianstousegreaterimaginationas
theycontemplatetheworldandenterintorelationshipanddialoguewiththeirneighbors.The
arrayofenvironmental,social,cultural,andpoliticaltroublesfacingsocietytodaydemandthat
welistenauthenticallyandheartheneedsoftheearthanditspeople.Onlythencanwerespond
creativelyandproductivelytodrawfromthedepthsoffaiththewisdomneededinourageof
unrest.Whatquestionsdoestheworldaskoftheology?Howdothesequestionschallengeusand
howdoweallowthatchallengetoshapeourprayers,ourstudies,ourministry,andourverylives?
Oncetheologianshaveundergonethisprocessoflistening,discerning,andbeingmovedtorespond
totheneedsandquestionsofourtime,thenweareproperlysituatedtooffertheresourcesofour
traditionstoaworldinperil.
Foritsthirdannualgraduateconference,LumenetVita,theacademicjournalattheBostonCollege
SchoolofTheologyandMinistry,invitespapersfromavarioustheologicaldisciplinesthataddress
thispressingtask.Weareparticularlylookingforpapersthatcreativelyandhonestlyapprehend
thequestionsbeingaskedoftheologytodayandhowthetheologicalprojectshouldengagein
attentiveaggiornamentowhileretainingorganiccontinuityinaproductiveandrelevantway.We
welcomepapersfromtheseareas:Systematics,Biblical,Moral,ChurchHistory,andPastoral.
Abstractsubmissionsshouldbe250-300wordsinlengthandshouldbesentviaemailto
