Faculty Position Department of Physician Assistant Studies University of South Alabama Faculty Position The Department of Physician Assistant Studies of the University of South Alabama (USA) invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Become a part of our diverse, collegial team in a PA program established in 1996. The program is housed in our modern Health Sciences building that includes state-of-the art simulation and standardized patient labs. The University is located in historic Mobile, AL on the sunny Gulf Coast, between New Orleans and the Florida panhandle. Both PA and physician candidates will be considered. PA candidates must be a certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with current NCCPA certification and current license or eligibility as a physician assistant in the State of Alabama. A master’s degree from an ARC-PA accredited program is required; a minimum of 5 years clinical experience is preferred. Physician candidates must be state licensed (or license eligible) as an allopathic or osteopathic physician. A minimum of 5 years clinical experience is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to teach in the curricular components of the pre-clinical phase of the program (i.e. Clinical Medicine Course Series), and related clinical areas. The successful candidate will also assist with student advising, supervision of students in didactic and clinical coursework, and maintain an active program of scholarship and community service.
