While, an approximation was made, the committee will proceed in the current academic year to further an initiative to design a computer program to assist in this manner. · The committee found the one page summary on the Application for Readmission a useful tool in deciding if a student should be readmitted to the college. While the transcript was also used in making decisions, the summary conveys necessary information regarding reasons for dismissal, determination to succeed, and changes in life circumstance that will contribute to future academic success. · Committee members were reminded, when reviewing transcripts, of the importance to students of withdrawing properly from courses if unexpected circumstances arise. Failure to do so over repeated semesters, and the resulting WI designations, can certainly hinder the ability to achieve a suitable GPA for graduation. · The committee also welcomed Dr. W. Anthony and Prof. B. Mader to the committee. · The chairperson would like to thank the members of the committee for their service over the past year along with Mr. W. Yarde, Director of Admissions and Ms. J. Guzman, Office of Admissions throughout the 20052006 academic year. The assistance of Mr. Yarde and Ms. Guzman allowed the committee to run smoothly.
