ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION, 2012-2013 INSTRUCTIONS: Please fill in the table below according to the assessment you conducted this academic year. In the column, “recommended action plan,” please indicate the reasons for the recommended action(s) and any recommended modifications to target outcome(s). Key Performance Indicator* Volume of services provided Increase Graduation Rates Target outcome(s) for Key Performance Indicator** 10% increase in student services provided by the Advisement office. The Advisement Center has created an internal degree audit system which promises to raise the six year graduation rate by at least 2% points each year. Actual outcome(s) Recommended action plan The office was successful in meeting its goal of increasing services to students by 10%. During the spring 13 semester, The office was successful in reaching out to and advising 90% ((4100 out of 6300) of the continuing students by May 31st. The latest Institutional Research "Fact Book" showed a slight 1.2% increase from 2004 2005. For Spring 2013 commencement, there were just over 300 more graduates. We've learned that it's important to set dates with students. If you inform them of deadlines, the majority of students will react positively and take care of school related business. It's imperative to work with other units in Student and Academic Affairs to devise a way to assist students towards degree completion. The Academy Advisors, Four-Year Transfer Coordinator, and Degree Audit members should come together on a twice a semester basis to review student transcripts and encourage graduation. Recommended status of Core Activity and KPI (see menu) Completed Continuing Notes: *The items in this column correspond to “indicators to be assessed” in part A, column 3. **To be more effective and meaningful, assessment efforts should focus on selected KPIs each academic year; over time, assessments should be rotated through all the department’s KPIs.
