International Student and Scholar Services Internship The Slater International Center at Wellesley College has established a summer internship program for graduate students interested in pursuing a career in International Education. The details of the internship are below. Dates: Mid-May 2016 – Mid- September, 2016 Hours: 10-20 hours per week (3 days-4 days) – flexible during normal business hours. Must be available to work full-time for Student Leader Training and Pre-Orientation Programs from August 21st – August 25th. Salary: $10.00/hour Opportunities: Learn to work with international students and scholars at a small women’s liberal arts college. Be exposed to the responsibilities of an International Student & Scholar Advisor while learning what it is like to be a member of an International Office team. Learn to develop and deliver orientation sessions specifically for international students and be a part of the campus wide orientation committee. Job Description: The Intern will gain exposure to a small liberal arts college international office and play an integral role in the development and implementation of the Student Leader Training and Pre-Orientation Program for international students, as well as provide support to Slater International Center staff. Specific Responsibilities: · Assist with preparation, coordination, and debrief of the Student Leader Training and Pre-Orientation Programs for international students · Assist with training of international student Pre-Orientation leaders · Coordinate and/or present various orientation sessions · Receive training on basic immigration procedures and introduction to the SEVIS system. · Update handouts and information for incoming international students · Assist with routine office administrative work (prepare mailings, maintain file systems, etc.) Requirements: · · · · · · Previous administrative experience Experience working with diverse populations Strong attention to detail and the ability to work individually and as part of a team Strong organizational, interpersonal, and intercultural communication skills Ability to work effectively and professionally with students and staff Excellent computer skills with: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps, and social media To apply, please send a letter of interest and a resume via email to: slatercenter@wellesley.edu Application deadline is April 15th, 2016
