Thechemicalcompositionsofclinopyroxene,olivine,andplagioclasefromthesesampleswere
determinedbyelectronmicroprobeanalyses,whichwerethenplottedagainsttheirstratigraphicheight
fromthebaseoftheintrusion.Inaddition,thechemistryofsixwholerocksampleswereobtained
throughx-rayfluorescence.Fromthebaseto120mintotheintrusion,thedatashowssystematic

Thechangeinmineralcompositionsfromthebaseto120misinterpretedtorevealamarginalreversal,
becausetheyareoppositeofnormalgeochemicaltrendsseenduringcrystallization.Themechanism(s)
thatcausedthisreversaliscurrentlynotwellconstrained.However,previousresearchhasfound
evidenceofmultiplemagmainjectionsintotheintrusion,whichmayhavecontributedtotheformation
ofthemarginalreversal.
