The full-­time Campus Minister will provide pastoral ministry to the Lowell Catholic community with a particular focus on high school students. This individual will serve as a member of the Campus Ministry team to offer programs which are consistent with the Catholic and Xaverian identity of the school. Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Duties): Through individual conversation, group formation, and scheduled programs: • Oversee Catholic Schools Collaborative in Lowell, MA • Assist high school students in the exploration, development, and appropriation of their faith • Provide experiences which foster personal development in a holistic manner • Promote experiences of authentic Christian community within the school environment • Educate students in principles of justice grounded in Catholic social teaching • Provide opportunities for the development of future leaders in the Church and society • Offer opportunities for the exploration of the Xaverian charism and values As assigned by the Director of Campus Ministry, oversee, develop, promote, and facilitate programs and events which may include: • Community service opportunities • Retreats • Liturgies and liturgical ministry formation • Social justice education and advocacy programs • Spiritual direction/companionship and pastoral conversation • Faith formation and sacramental preparation programs • Prayer services, reflection and educational events, etc. • Occasional emergency pastoral response • Other related ministry programs, recruitment, and outreach Program responsibilities include reservation of locations, communication with internal or external partners/vendors, event planning, advertising/promoting, selecting and training of student teams, follow-­up events, and evaluation. Minimum Qualifications (Education/Training and Experience Required): • Experience in youth ministry and/or campus ministry • Academic background in theology or religious studies • Deep understanding of and respect for the Catholic faith tradition • Ability to multi-­task in a busy environment • Strong organizational and communication skills • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment Physical Requirements or Unusual Work Hours: • Some evening and weekend hours
