B. Operations Order – EXERCISE ATLANTIC ENDEAVOUR 2015. LANTPAT 2015 Google Drive – Online Resource (USNA Only). Welcome Onboard! EXERCISE ATLANTIC ENDEAVOUR (LANTPAT 2015) 1. Background. The United States Naval Academy (USNA) uses the summer period to deliver varied training programs in support of the professional development of the Brigade of Midshipmen. For Block 1, you have been assigned to Atlantic Professional Afloat Training (LANTPAT). This period enables Yard Patrol Craft (YP) operations to take place over an extended duration and Squadrons are deployed away from Annapolis for up to fourteen days at any one time. During Block 1 we will transit as far North as Boston and New York City! 2. Mission Aim. To train Midshipmen underway in a realistic seagoing environment, enhancing the key maritime skills of Seamanship, Navigation and Leadership. LANTPAT is divided into three distinct Phases. Phase 1 will primarily be shore based in the classroom, simulator and alongside before moving to a range of in-area underway exercises during Phase 2. Prior to deploying for Phase 3, an Out of Area (OOA) Assessment will be conducted onboard each Craft. 4. Objectives. The Mission Aim will be achieved by providing challenging leadership and technically demanding team roles for Midshipmen across each of the key watch keeping and Squadron Staff positions. Prior to departing the Severn River OPAREA a consolidated and wellresourced training package will be delivered to best prepare each Midshipman for the challenges of sustained out of area operations. This includes navigation, seamanship, marine engineering, sea survival and damage control training. We will undertake a varied range of advanced exercises to provide you with an valuable introduction to basic naval warfare skills that will include tactical manoeuvres and operating with live aircraft. 5. Initial Muster Point. All personnel are to muster in the Luce Hall Planetarium at 0745 on Tue 26 May 15. Please ensure that you bring a notebook and pen. After an initial welcome brief, you will be divided into four separate crews of approximately 30 Midshipmen for each Craft. Page 1 of 3 UNCLASSIFIED UNCLASSIFIED 6. Uniform. Unless otherwise directed, the daily uniform will be NWUs. Summer Whites will be required for the period deployed away from Annapolis. 7. Schedule of Events (SOE). The Block 1 SOE is outlined below, all dates remain subject to change for various operational reasons. 8.
