Minor for Students in the
Carroll School of Management

The Applied Psychology and Human Development minor for students in the Carroll School of
Management consists 18 credits in the Lynch School of Education. Three courses (9 credits) are
required and the remaining three courses (9 credits) must be elected from among upper level (200+)
psychology in education courses or a practicum as listed below. Please note: in some cases, a prerequisite course must be taken in order to enroll in certain courses.

This minor may interest students who wish to (1) deepen their knowledge of human behavior in the
areas of psychology, human development, and learning in preparation for a career in fields such as
human resource management, marketing research, or advertising; (2) gain specialized knowledge in
certain specific areas of human resources management, for example: counseling, training, personnel
assessment, family crisis assistance, drug, and alcohol abuse programs, and aging/elderly care; or (3)
prepare for employment in a government or private sector social services organization.
