These are the steps the OCN recommends for
your center to be ready for your review:
– Read your letter
– Inform Staff

• How do you determine Average Daily
Attendance?
– Divide the highest number of meals served during
the month by the number of operating days.
– Round all fractions up to the next whole number
for ADA.

• How many meals is a child care center allowed
to claim per child/per day?
– Three (Two meals and a snack or two snacks and
a meal)
– What if the center serves more than three meals a
day to a child?
– How is the center to document this process
correctly?

Multi-Site Responsibilities
• Three reviews are required to be completed
each fiscal year.
• At least two of these visits are required to be
unannounced, while one of these visits needs
to be during a meal service.
• New sites will need reviewed within the first
four weeks of program operation.

• No more than six months can elapse between
visits.
• No more than nine months can elapse
between a site that has had two previous
visits.
• Multi-site sponsors need to use form
developed by OCN.
