Introduction 2014 The National Organic Food Awards return in 2014 to mark the achievements of Irish organic food and drink growers and manufacturers. This year there are six new categories for companies to enter and the closing date for entries is Friday 5th September. All entries will be judged by a panel of experts. In association with Award winners will be announced and presented at an awards lunch on Tuesday 14th October in Bord Bia. www.bordbia.ie/organicawards2014 Growing the success of Irish food & horticulture Rules of Entry Entry Requirements As the objective of these awards is to recognise the achievements of Irish manufacturers of organic food and drink the following criteria will strictly apply: All entry forms must be received by Friday 5th September 2014. The official entry form as attached must be completed and returned by post or email to: • Product must be manufactured or grown in the Republic of Ireland i.e. repackaged product is not eligible. Please label each package clearly with storage instructions either ambient, chilled or frozen so that products can be stored appropriately. The organisers cannot accept any responsibility for samples lost or undelivered. Failure to supply the samples between the times and on the dates requested will mean that your entry cannot be judged. Direct Selling Award To include all fresh and processed organic products being sold directly at farm gate, via box schemes, online, food markets etc. direct sales should represent a majority of sales turnover (51%+). Judging criteria will be evidence of business growth, creativity and flair in sales and customer service approach and that direct selling represents the primary sales channel for the business.
