GED® Option Counselor/instructor recommends student to the GED Option Program Meeting is held with GED Option Team, student and parent/guardian Academic, attendance and behavioral expectations are discussed Student selects the GED Option goal Attends GED Preparation classes and passes the GED Tests Completes a 21st Century job preparation “soft skills” curriculum Completes the four (4) required core courses in a CTE skilled pathway concentration Meets standards on the WorkKeys® job skills assessment Reaches or exceeds the cut score set by WVDE on the End-of-Concentration Performance Assessment Receives a High School Diploma Counted as a High School Graduate Is a senior Is deficient in a class that is assessed by the GED Tests Attends GED preparation classes for the deficient content class Passes the content area GED Test with a score of 450 Continues attending and maintaining passing grades in all other classes Is seventeen (17) years old or older Wishes to leave school Passes the GED Tests prior to leaving the public school system Receives a GED Diploma Counted as a High School Completer
