QUALIFICATIONS 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred, in Education or Human Resource Management. Valid Florida certification, processional level. Minimum of five (5) years classroom teaching experience Familiarity with computer-based databases spreadsheets. Ability to perform essential functions of the position. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES *1. To review all instructional personnel teaching in the identified core areas for classification as “highly qualified” under state NCLBA regulations. *2. To establish and maintain a database of all teachers assigned to ESOL/LEP students and track compliance with the Meta Decree. *3. To review school submissions of teachers as highly qualified, not highly qualified, or not applicable for each course taught. *4. To train teachers regarding the No Child Left Behind Act and to monitor progress of teachers toward attaining “highly qualified status”. *5. To review teachers as in-field or out-of-field for each course taught, using MIS generated reports. *6. To assist with recruitment and retention of highly qualified teachers. *7. To maintain documentation that the school have notified parents in a timely fashion of teachers’ standing as highly qualified/not highly qualified, in-field/out-of-field and ESOL compliance for each course taught. *8. To assist in notifying teachers of needed training/course work for compliance with the Meta Decree *9. To become familiar with certification requirements and procedures. TSA, Personnel Page 2 10.
