Women’s Program Council – Liaison needed o No current liaison o Group meeting same week Admissions & Registration Council – (Katie Headlee, Cascadia CC) o Meeting this week o Student retention o Leadership tools in tough times Disability Support Services – (Megan Bryson, Bellingham Tech) o Combine meeting with four year schools o Adequate salary for higher education employees 3 major goals Professional development; accessibility for online resources; student learning outcomes Advising Counseling Council – (Edie Blakley, Clark College) o Running Start updates; should they be included in FTE’s? o High School completion o Demos of orientation packages o Schools are moving to Canvas from Angel o Clover Park is incorporating counselors into English classes for embedded advising o New statewide, mandatory reporting requirements for child abuse & Title IX WSSSC (Anna in lieu of Warren Brown – WSSSC liaison) o o See email sent via listserv from Warren Brown Suggestion to create council for Test Center Directors not supported by WSSSC Ad-hoc meetings encouraged instead o Title IX (sexual harassment) o Student Achievement Initiative o Achieving the Dream o Showcasing the SBCTC data tool (see SBCTC website) SBCTC report (Edie in lieu of Scott Copeland) o See email that Scott sent via listserv o U. of Phoenix enrollment dropped 25% o Talk about increasing higher education salary Not likely due to budget woes o Taking time to educate new legislatures about higher edu o Efficiency Study o College Bound Scholarships ¾ ended up at baccalaureate but many will transfer back to community colleges o ctcLink down to two finalists for project vender selected and implemented by Jan. 2013 Executive Committee Reports & Discussions Engagement with Linkedin – (Josh Staffieri) Encouraged members to join public group (Washington State Career & Employment Services Council) Treasurer update o Current balance: 2,024.59 Does not include ’12 membership fees Membership & the Monkey – Member at Large (Dave Knapp) o Demonstration of Mailchimp Collects information (e.g., membership) more efficiently Members shared some confusion about rsvp and paying for membership Will be tweaked/enhanced for winter ITV meeting Spring Joint Council Meeting – Past President (Edie Blakely) o Planning for a two-day, joint meeting (with another council: WEC?) WEC currently meets May 2 and 3rd Bylaw Amendments & the Assessment – group discussion o See document sent via listserv o Realignment of responsibilities for executive committee discussed o Motion passed to accept revisions was withdrawn o New amendments proposed and discussed Strike #3 from “Meetings” in By-laws Change #2 under “Amendments” to read, “Proposed amendments or revisions to the By-Laws must be endorsed by a two thirds vote of the members in attendance at any meeting.” o Motion to pass amendments sent prior to meeting and the two changes proposed at meeting passed.
