@CCESS NOW! Every Student Future Ready The goal is to place as many class books and computer programs on each student’s computer, according to their class schedule, as possible. All students will have access to the whole Microsoft Office Suite: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher. Students will have a new email system on Office 365. Students will take their own state tests on their own laptop. Teachers will be using this great technology tool every day in your classes. THIS IS SO EXCITING! HOW DO I GET A LAPTOP? A message will be sent to parents and students when laptops have been delivered and are ready for distribution. Students must come to school with their parent/guardian and complete a short training course that takes about a ½ an hour. Each student must pay the $25 insurance fee for the year and fill out the agreement paperwork. You will receive the laptop and charging cords. TELL ME ABOUT THE LAPTOP! It is a Dell, with solid state technology. It has the full Microsoft Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint). If you take a special course like drafting your program for the class will be accessible on your own laptop. It runs on wireless- anywhere. It comes with a power cord. You can purchase a case for it from the school. Our school and Westwood High School will pilot the laptop program for the high schools in our district. The district committee recognized the need for technology in our building. We are striving hard to improve our achievement rates and this will help us do that. We believe in YOU! We can make this project work! WHY IS OUR SCHOOL GETTING LAPTOPS? Take good care of your laptop and protect it from damage. Recharge it every night for school the next day.
