APPENDIX 1 (BASE DEFENSE PLAN TEMPLATE) TO ANNEX N (REAR OPERATIONS)
TO THE 33D ASG OPERATIONS ORDER 01-01
MISSION
Base ____________, to include all tenant units, is to plan, coordinate, and
conduct Rear Operations to prevent interruption of CS and CSS functions.
EXECUTION
Concept of Operations:
(1) ______________________ has been designated as the base commander and
has established a base defense operations center (BDOC) at _______________.
He will organize all tenant units for Rear Operations.
The BDOC has coordinated for Rear Operations support through 45th ROC.
Rear Operations assets will be provided upon request and if available.
The BDOC has coordinated a mutual support and defense system with Base
#s______________________ and BCOC #______________. Telephone numbers
or secured radio frequencies for contacting the operation centers of each unit
and the BCOC are posted in the BDOC and will be updated by BDOC
personnel as changes occur.
The BDOC will past, at a minimum, the Base Defense Status, THREATCON,
Alert Status, Air Defense Warning, and MOPP Level.
Base Defense Measures









Primary and secondary positions have been established for defense of the
base.
Crew served weapons have been positioned at likely avenues of
approach.
Units have been assigned and have established LPs/OPs, which are
always manned.
Rally and Assembly points for base reaction forces have been designated
Obstacles, road barriers, early warning devices, and mines are employed
to help maintain local security of the base.
Units have been assigned responsibilities of manning primary/alt.
entrances and exits.
All available chemical detection devices have been installed at
appropriate locations.
Units have been assigned responsibility of and have established a hasty
decon site.
Units have been assigned responsibility of and have established an EPW
holding area.
Coordinating Instructions

Each unit will on order provide ______ personnel with individual weapons
(M16 w/ basic load). to include an NCOIC to serve as part of the base
reaction force.

Each unit will on order provide ______ personnel to serve as part of the
base Area Damage Control (ADC) reaction force.
Each unit/activity will designate one organic water trailer as an
emergency fire-fighting device and ensure it is ready for emergency fire
fighting operations.
Units will utilize pioneer tools assigned to vehicles and any other
available tools or equipment for ADC operations.
Fire Support:




Pre-planned fire support has been coordinated through the BCOC.
Fire support requests will be initiated by the BDOC through the BCOC.
Rear Operations Support: Requests for RO support will flow from the
BDOC to the BCOC to the RAOC/ROC. The RAOC/ROC will coordinate
with the appropriate element.
Evacuation of EPWs will be coordinated by the BDOC.
SERVICE/SUPPORT:
All activities and units within the base cluster will use their technical chain of
command for service/support.
Request all Rear Operations support through the BCOC using the tactical
chain of command.
COMMAND AND SIGNAL
Command
_________________ of the _______________ has been appointed the base
commander of base #______ by the Rear Operations Officer (i.e., Corps DCG).
_________________ of the _______________ has been appointed the base cluster
commander of base cluster #______ by the Rear Operations Officer. Base
