Affiliation Agreement Between the
Raleigh County Board of Education and Raleigh General Hospital
The Raleigh County Board of Education has requested to affiliate with Raleigh
General Hospital to provide medical oversight for the AED Program as required by West
Virginia State Code 16-4c.Through this affiliation, Raleigh General Hospital agrees to
provide a physician to serve as the medical director of the AED Program. The duties of
the medical director include the following:
o Work and communicate with the Raleigh County Board of Education AED
Coordinator.
o Assist with registering the AED Program with the WV Office of Emergency
Medical Services.
o Advise about the proper locations of AEDs at the schools/work sites.
o Advise about how emergency responders should be notified of an
emergency.
o Review the AED Program procedural guidelines and advise accordingly.
o Conduct a review each time the AED is used. The main purpose of the
review is to give responders positive feedback and practical suggestions
for improvement. The review allows problems in the program to be quickly
spotted and fixed.
This Agreement may be modified at any time upon mutual consent in writing by
either party. This Agreement may be terminated by either party with a sixty days’
written notice to the other party.
