Dr. Otto Wiesheu Schaeffler AG Supervisory Board Member After completing secondary school in 1964 in Freising, Dr. Otto Wiesheu fulfilled his military service with the paratroopers in Nagold (lieutenant in the reserves). He then studied law in Munich from 1966 to 1970. In 1977, Dr. Otto Wiesheu did his doctoral dissertation on the “Importance for International Law of the Territorial and Border Regulations in the Treaties with Eastern Europe” and completed a Dr. Jur. utr. degree. From 1972 to 2005, Dr. Otto Wiesheu was a member of the Freising County Council, and was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament from 1974 to 2005. From 1984 to 1990, he was Managing Director of the Hanns Seidel Foundation. In 1990, Dr. Otto Wieheu assumed the responsibilities of State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry of Education, Cultural Affairs, Science, and the Arts. From 1993 to 2005, he was Bavarian State Minister of Commerce, Transport, and Technology. From 2006 to 2009, Dr. Otto Wiesheu was Member of the Management Board for Economy and Regulatory Affairs of Deutsche Bahn AG. In addition to his responsibilities as President of the Union Economic Advisory Committee [Wirtschaftsbeirat der Union e.V.] since 2009, Dr. Otto Wieshau has been the President of the German-Arab Friendship Association [Deutsch-Arabische Freundschaftsgesellschaft e.V.] since 2007.
