This was an 88% increase compared to October 2012 and a 27% increase compared to the previous month. Despite overall NHS Choices visits seeing a decrease during September - October 2013, the percentage of NHS Choices traffic made up by visits to mental health content rose from 5.03% in September to 6.59% in October 2013. Pages within the 'treatments and conditions' content area accounted for most visits relating to mental health content, followed by 'Moodzone' pages (planner) and ‘tools’. During October 2013, there was a significant uplift in visits to these areas compared to the previous month, with a 28% increase being seen in the ‘treatments and conditions’ area, a 24% increase for ‘Moodzone’ pages and a 29% rise for ‘tools’. Between October 2012 to October 2013 there were 175,550 visits to mental health-related common health questions (CHQs), with the most popular being ‘can I drink alcohol if I’m taking antidepressants?’ The most popular search terms during October 2013 were ‘depression’, ‘bipolar’ and ‘anxiety’. These corresponded to the most visited ‘treatments and conditions’ pages during the same period, which ranked: 1. Depression (239,000 visits) 2. Anxiety (214,320 visits) 3. Bipolar Disorder (138,379 visits).
