Biographical Note / Historical Note / Administrative History
The History of Indiana filmstrips collection is the second set in a 12 strip series that tells the history of
Indiana from 1850 to 1965. It was developed in 1965 by Richard H. Caldemeyer, Ph.D. and Byron P.
Shurtleff, M.S. both from Ball State Teachers College. The series was intended as an educational aid for
elementary school students of local history and features a focus on political/military/technical/and cultural
milestones in Indiana history.
Scope and Contents
This collection includes teacher's guides and photo slide film strips detailing the history of Indiana from
1850-1965.
