MY ACADEMIC RECORD – Handout 1 GRADE 5 LESSON 5.9 How Do I Figure A GPA? A GPA or Grade Point Average is the average of all grades. A GPA will be very important to a student throughout middle school and high school. It will help you to know how to average grades and know where you stand academically based on your grades. 1st List all classes. Be sure to include subjects like Art and Gym. 2nd Show the current grade for each class. 3rd Show the point value for each. Fill in a 4 for each A; a 3 for each B; a 2 for each C; a 1 for each D; and a 0 for each F.
