SENIOR PROJECT
GRADE 12 LESSON 32 & 33
Time Required: 30-45 minutes
Content Standards: (AA.S.6) Students will understand
the relationship between personal qualities, education,
training and the world of work.
Indicators (Students will…): AA.C.12.6.02 Evaluate
completeness of senior project and work toward completion.
AA.C.12.6.04 Work towards finalizing the four components of the senior project: the paper,
product, portfolio and presentation.
GOAL: Students will finalize Senior Projects.
Activity Statements:
Students will continue working on Senior Project preparing for presentations.
Students will familiarize themselves with evaluation tools used for Senior Project.
Materials:
Handout 1 – Oral Presentation Guide
Handout 2 – Public Speaking Rubric
Handout 3 – Evaluating a Presentation
Handout 4 – Evaluating a Research Paper
Handout 5 – Student Responsibilities
Teacher should download the SREB Senior Project Guide from Web link below.
School Specific forms with deadlines/guidelines/responsibilities, etc.
Procedures:
1. Distribute and review Handout 1 focusing on oral presentations. Remind seniors that
practice presentations with student evaluators are in a few weeks.
2. Distribute and review Handouts 2, 3, 4 evaluation forms for oral speaking, presentation
and the research paper. Discuss as needed.
3. Allow time for students to work on their Senior Projects.
4. Be available for assistance, questions or direction of students to other resources.

Extension Activities: Student should review web site below for additional guides such as Checklist for
Research Paper. Student should meet with project advisor, finalize timelines and develop a to do list to
complete the project by the due date.
Activity:
Students can use their CFWV Portfolio as a storage container for the documents for their Senior Project.
