Mission of Social Work Program
To provide students with a trauma informed foundation
that will prepare them for advanced practice and
leadership. The dignity and worth of the individual and
the importance of human relationships are core values
of the program. Critical thinking is also a fundamental
component of the program supported by multicultural
sensitivity, human rights, and social and economic
justice.
When do you do field?
-Concurrent Placement/August-May
-Start: August 24, 2015
-End by: May 6, 2016
-500-hour minimum requirement
(250 hours/Fall; 250 hours/Spring)

Requirements During Field
1. Seminars - Seven (7) 2 hour seminars are held throughout the
concurrent field experience. Typically, four (4) are held in the fall
semester and three (3) are held in the spring semester for a total of
14 contact hours.
2. Learning Plan due by week 3 of the field experience
3. Summary of Learnings sent to liaison and shared with agency
instructor.
4. Agency Analysis Presentation (5 page minimum; 15 minute
presentation)
5. Evaluations (midterm, end, self-efficacy, field program)
6. Log of Hours
Other
-Field is credit/no credit; Seminar is graded.
-Additional costs with Health Care related field
placements (handout)
-Unpaid (stipend from agency)
-Internships with current employer
