Name: Avinash J. Dalal Graduate Student College of Arts and Sciences – Math Dept. Formal Power Series and Algebraic Combinatorics 2012 (FPSAC’12) Osaka City University Osaka, JAPAN I am a graduate student in Mathematics here at Drexel University. I recently got invited to give a poster session at the Formal Power Series and Algebraic Combinatorics 2012 (FPSAC’12) conference in Osaka, Japan at Osaka City University. FPSAC’12 is the main annual conference in the field of Algebraic Combinatorics, which is the area of my research. My experience at FPSAC’12 was very memorable and very important to my growth as a graduate student. I got a chance to convey the research my advisor, Dr. Jennifer Morse, and I have been conducting over the past year at the conference. Our research will be published in the journal of Discrete Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science. Furthermore, I met colleagues in the Geometry field as well, some of whom I have begun a collaboration with. I have just submitted another extended abstract to the next annual conference, and wait to be accepted to give a talk in the summer of 2013 at FPSAC’13. I thank Drexel University, especially the Office of Graduate Studies and the Office of International Travel for their financial support through the International Travel Award. I hope that I have such a wonderful opportunity again.
