CSBS Reaccreditations
•
Two graduate counseling programs in UNI's School of Applied Human Sciences were recently reaccredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs.
•
The two programs – school counseling and clinical mental health counseling – were reaccredited for eight years.
•
Both programs have been accredited by the council since 1990, and the clinical mental health counseling program was the first accredited program in the nation.
•
UNI's undergraduate and graduate social work programs have been reaccredited by the Council on Social Work Education for eight years, the maximum granted by the Commission on Accreditation.

CASE Educational Fundraising Award
•
UNI has been selected as a winner of a 2015 CASE Educational Fundraising Award. •
This award honors superior fundraising programs at CASE member institutions across the country.
•
UNI was selected to receive an Overall Performance award based on the judges' analysis of three years of fundraising data we submitted to the Council of Aid to Education's annual Voluntary Support of Education Survey.

Original 'Bridges of Madison County' manuscript
•
"The Bridges of Madison County" original manuscript has been donated by author Robert James Waller to the Rod Library's special collections and university archives.
•
The manuscript includes Waller's personal notes and annotations.
•
Originally published in 1992, this love story between a woman living in Madison County, Iowa, and a photographer was a New York Times bestseller and has sold 50 million copies worldwide.
•
Waller currently lives in Texas and received is B.A. in 1962 from UNI as well as his M.A. in 1968. Waller is also a former faculty member and dean of what is now known as the College of Business Administration at UNI.

Presidential award
•
UNI graduate Allysen Lovstuen was one of 108 mathematics and science teachers selected nationwide to receive the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. •
This award is one of the nation's highest honors for teachers of math and science.

'Best in the Midwest' for 2016
•
UNI has been named one of the best in the Midwest by The Princeton Review. •
The well-­known educations services company lists UNI among its "Best in the Midwest" recommended schools in its "2016 Best Colleges: Region by Region" website feature.
•
Only 159 colleges in 12 Midwestern states made the list.
•
Being recognized as one of the "Best in the Midwest" by The Princeton is a direct result of the work our students, faculty and staff undertake together.
