Biographical Note / Historical Note / Administrative History
Standards in General Education English was first published by the English Department at Ball State
University in 1965. In 1982 the booklets became known as simply "The Writing Program." The booklet
outlines the english program and department sequences at the University. The pamphlets include course
descriptions, syllabi, outlines basic grammar and department rules and also includes some sample writing.
Scope and Contents
This collection includes handbooks from Ball State Universitiy's writing program in Muncie, Indiana
ranging from 1982 to 2000 regarding the courses and requirements of the english department.
