Intellectual Property Law Firm Named Technology Advocate Award

(Dallas, TX - September 7, 2011) – The Metroplex Technology Business Council
(MTBC) honored intellectual property law firm CARR LLP at the 11th annual Tech Titans
Awards gala held on August 26, 2011. CARR was named as a finalist in the
Technology Advocate category and was the only law firm represented among award
honorees.
The Tech Titans Awards recognizes outstanding technology companies and individuals
in the North Texas area who have made significant contributions to their industries
during the past year. Greg Carr, managing partner of CARR LLP responded, “We’re
honored to be recognized as a Technology Advocate by the Metroplex Technology
Business Council, and we salute all of the organizations that are committed to fostering
innovation in North Texas.”
CARR LLP has been an active supporter of emerging technology in the private and
public sector. The firm has represented numerous early stage technology companies
and is the founding sponsor of SMU's Innovation Competition, a campus-wide
competition designed to stimulate and recognize innovation and collaboration amongst
students of all fields of study. CARR’s sponsorship includes teaching students to draft
their own patent applications and completing pro bono patent applications for student
winners.

technology. With the SMU Innovation Competition we teach the students the importance
of their intellectual property, how to protect it, and even how to write and file their own
patent applications.”
