Soska MSEd, BB Senior Consultant, Business Excellence Nationwide Insurance For our Lean Six Sigma Solutions discussion in February, we will be reviewing the processes in use by Nationwide Insurance to create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement. Greg Soska and Mark Forsberg from the Business Excellence Team will be reviewing their practice of Turbo Trak sessions and outline how this process not only establishes a culture of continuous improvement , but enables a mechanism to develop a portfolio of 'next best' belt projects for operational simplicity that are aligned to corporate and business unit strategy. By reviewing the process and techniques in place, they will discuss the various LSS Tools that are utilized, the training approach, and the portfolio management practices for project prioritization and execution. They will close with a discussion on the benefits realization process and review how it aligns with the overall strategy and culture behind Lean Six Sigma within Nationwide. Mark R. Forsberg AIC, MBA, MCP, LSSBB, PMP® Senior Consultant, Business Excellence, Center of Excellence Nationwide Insurance Mark joined Nationwide in 1995 and currently serves as a Senior Consultant, Business Excellence within the Business Transformation Office. In his role he is responsible for the delivery of On Your Side® continuous improvement curriculum and deployment efforts for Nationwide and Allied Insurance. These efforts include training and education, coaching, and building business capabilities focused on end‐to‐end process improvement for a broad spectrum of business initiatives including service delivery, development of new technology, and product design intended to enhance the customer experience and drive operational efficiencies. Prior to joining the Business Excellence team, Mark served as a program manager for continuous improvement efforts throughout the Claims and Staff Sales business units within Nationwide Insurance. Mark has held various roles within Nationwide including Field Claims, ITSD, NSC, PCIT, Claims Staff, and NI Operations. Mark holds a Masters of Business Administration from Franklin University and two undergraduate degrees in Finance and Economics with a specialization in International Business from Drexel University. Mark is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and is currently pursuing his Master Black Belt certification. Greg J. Soska MSEd, BB Senior Consultant, Business Excellence Nationwide Insurance Gregory J, Soska joined Nationwide in 2006 currently serving as a Senior Consultant within the Business Transformation Office responsible for the delivery of process management, re‐
engineering, and continuous improvement deployment efforts for the Enterprise. Efforts facilitated through training and education, coaching, and building business capabilities focused on end to end process improvement for a broad spectrum of business initiatives including service delivery, development of new technology, and product design intended to enhance the customer experience and drive operational efficiencies. Prior Experience: My initial five years at Nationwide were served in Information Risk Management as an IT Business Process Consultant. Experience prior to Nationwide includes eight years of service with the CheckFree Corporation within Customer Operations in the capacity as a Customer Service and Product Trainer, Training Manager, Service Quality Manager, Process Engineer, and a Six Sigma Trainer and Coach. Seven years of service in Higher Education in Student Services for Otterbein University and Miami University as a Director within the areas of Residence Life, Greek Affairs, Judicial Affairs, and Leadership Development.
